Royal Arch Masonry
Chapter of Harmony No 244
Warrant dated 5th August 1829
Centenary Warrant 1st December 1942
Meetings: Third Wednesday in January, March (Installation), September and November
Number of members @ 30th June 2009 - 55
The warrant was issued in 1829. All the early minute books are missing. The warrant states that the Chapter of Harmony is attached to the Farmers' Lodge No 452 (now Yarborough No 244), although there was a Lodge of Harmony No 341 from 1809 until 1832. It can only be conjecture as to why a name was chosen that was connected with another Lodge.
The Chapter was dormant between 1836 and 1842 and could not obtain its centenary charter until 1942 although because of the war it was 1949 when the document and replacement charter was issued.
