The Lodge was petitioned in April 1895 and consecrated just
three months later. There were seventeen founders and the
Lodge was initially very active. The last candidate to be
admitted was registered in 1902 when there were 36 members.
All the original documents have unfortunately been
destroyed, and there are no minutes or other documents to
identify why the Lodge failed. The warrant was returned to
Grand Mark Lodge in 1912.
The first signs of a revival were in the mid 1970s at which
time there were just five brethren in Jersey belonging to
Royal Ark Mariner Lodges elsewhere, but insufficient
momentum was gathered. In 1984 at the consecration of the
Guernsey Lodge of Mark Master Masons, the subject was
raised by the visiting Grand Officers. The brother who took
up the challenge was W.Bro David Piczenik. It was proposed
that an emergency meeting of the Sarnian Lodge of Royal Ark
Mariners would be held in Guernsey, at which thirteen
Jersey brethren would be elevated. The Caesarean Lodge was
reconsecrated in 1985.
Meetings held at Stopford Road, St.Helier, Jersey
Third Wednesday in February (Installation), April and
October, and First Thursday in December
