The Order of the Secret Monitor first established itself in
the Channel Islands on Thursday 10th March 1994 in the form
of the Consecration of Fidèle Amiêtchi
Conclave No. 384 meeting in Jersey. Fidèle
Amiêtchi means faithful friendship in Jersey
French.
Soon after, two further Conclaves were formed; Harold
Manners Conclave No. 402 on 19th June 1995 which meets in
Jersey and Le Marchant Conclave No. 421 on 15th March 1997
which meets in Guernsey
The Brethren of the Channel Islands were also instrumental
in forming a number of Conclaves in Northern France, in
particular, Les Amis Fideles de Saint Malo Conclave No 422,
which was also consecrated, under the English Constitution,
on 15th March 1997.
The subsequent Inauguration of the Sovereign Grand Conclave
for France in February 1999 required that Conclave to
become No3 under the new jurisdiction of the French
Constitution. Many Channel Island Brethren, however, are
still active members of that and other Conclaves
established in Cherbourg and Tours.
All the Channel Island Conclaves were Consecrated by the
Grand Supreme Ruler, M.Wy. Bro. Col. Geoffrey Seymour
Hamilton Dicker, who retired as The M.Wy Grand Supreme
Ruler in November 1997.
The three Conclaves, No's 384, 402 & 421 were formed
into a Province on Saturday 26th September 1998 at the
Masonic Temple in Jersey, by the Grand Supreme Ruler, Most
Worthy. Bro. Peter Glyn Williams. Right Worthy Bro. Kenneth
Michael Rondel being the first Installed Provincial Grand
Supreme Ruler.
