LONG MASONIC CAREERS
IN THE PROVINCE OF JERSEY

 

It has been the Province's custom to present certificates, commemorating 50 and 60 years subscribing membership of the Province or Craft, at the Special Meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge each March.

The PGM announced that the Special Meeting held in March 2011, that this would be the last (for the present time) and that the business usually transacted would be moved to other events.

The presentation of anniversary certificates is now conducted in the recipient's Lodge or, if they are unable to attend, at their home. This means that these events are no longer recorded and communicated via the minutes of the Provincial meeting, and although recorded by the relevant Lodge they do not receive the recognition such significant milestones deserve.

Therefore it is the intention to record these events in both Regular Steps (the Provincial newsletter) and on the website. There are eight certificate presentations planned in 2011. Two for 60 and six for 50 years service - a significant achievement in any Province, let alone one with only 550 members!
