Loge La Césarée No 590

Installation - February
Number of members @ 30th June 2009 - 75
French had always been the official language of Jersey, and it was not surprising that a Lodge was formed using the French language. This Lodge is unique in Jersey in that all its ceremonies, summonses and minutes are in French. Indeed it is the oldest surviving French speaking Lodge on the register of the United Grand Lodge of England
During the 19th century, the Lodge established a Masonic Tomb in the Almorah Cemetary where several past masters are buried. The Lodge was instrumental in the planning and building of the Masonic Temple in Jersey, the architect and one of the builders being members of the Lodge. They were the first Lodge to hold a meeting in the new building in recognition of this fact.
