De Carteret Lodge was formed as a temperance Lodge in 1910, and named after the Provincial Grand Master at the time, RW Bro E.C.Malet de Carteret. It lost its temperance status in 1981, although at the time the vote was taken, a very significant crack of thunder happened over the Temple, much to the amusement of the members present.
